Inspired by ancient Aborigine tradition, a City Walk About is an invitation to give mental space to an important personal question and to find unforeseen answers. Traditional Walk Abouts are done by Aborigines as a rite of passage into adulthood, where young men would go into nature for a prolonged period of time and allow both intuition and a connection to nature take over.
A City Walk About takes inspiration from this tradition and adapts it for our contemporary times and life in the city. By taking part, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, the city you’re in, and afterwards be able to integrate your experience into community and urban life.
Come prepared to walk in comfortable clothing and footwear If you want, bring a notebook and pen to record any experiences or observations Come with an open mind and a willingness to discuss your urban journey Thanks to this experience it has been possible to achieve:
In this 3 hours group experience, we will take time to arrive and adapt out of the mindset of the daily grind. You will then individually go on a 60 minute walk through the city, with a focus on seeing the city in a new light and with a meditative state of mind. Afterwards we will reconvene and share our experiences.
